Men who love to sing are invited to consider joining the Lamplighters. To do this we recommend you come and listen to a rehearsal at the Arcadians’ Miner’s Lamp Theatre, 141 Princes Highway, Corrimal and then to join in if you like what you see and hear.
To join you really need to be retired or available on Monday mornings between 9:30 am and Noon because that is when the choir rehearse.
At this stage there are no auditions, just a great love of singing and being able to hold a tune.
If it appeals we provide you with some loan music and get you to sit in on about 6 rehearsals in a voice range the conductor feels would suit you best. You will also be introduced to a mentor to sing with and help you and introduce you to other choristers.
During the 6 weeks we ask you to get to know the choir scene as much as possible with the help of others plus a script telling you about the Lamplighters and the parent Arcadians Theatre Group. We hope you enjoy the 6-week so much that you then sign up to join. Lamplighters are all full Arcadians Theatre Group members and join as such with no extra fees for being in Lamplighters.
